What is GetWatchers? GetWatchers is a group of artists created to, hopefully (as our name says), get you - the artist - more watchers, comments, criticism and exposure. This community has been created for both art appreciators, beginners and experienced artists. You discover new artists while improving your own ability. Artists of the group help you and you help others.
How can GetWatchers help me share my arts? Whenever members submit a piece of their art, it automatically passes through a panel of voters (other members). When members give their votes, they add a small comment to explain their decision. This could be really useful to help you improve your art.
Since your artwork goes to these voters, you’ve already got a large group of people to view your work. So even if your artwork was not added to the Featured Gallery it will be added to the collection, and many people will have seen your work - thus increasing your audience. Also, each time you give a criticism and/or a comment, your member vitality rank increase. This way, you will stay at top of the list, and other members in the same categories will be able to find you easily. The more active you are, the more watchers you get.
Another way to receive more criticisms, is the "Feedback exchange"... Each time you give a constructive criticism, you stay on the list until someone gives you some helpful comments.
What happens in the voting panel? The voting panel is made up of members of the group. Each member can give their vote to either approve or decline a submission – between 0 and 10. This is based on basic criteria (ie. quality, finished product, etc.) as well as personal taste. If a submission receives a big number of positive votes, it will be directly added to the Favorites Featured folder and/or to Featured Gallery. Only a very limited number of masterpieces will be added here, it's a kind of "contest" process.
The preferences menu (filters) doesn't work properly? The filter system will show only your favorites art categories when some artworks are available in your selected categories, if not, then, you will view others categories until new artworks are added in your category and/or until some new members join.
Why do I sometimes see the same artwork twice? For technical reasons, the system can only remember your last 300 views. So if you see a lot of art on a single day, the same artwork can happen to show up several times. The system is made to only show one artwork once to the same user but if you use the site many hours in a row, you can see some twice.
The site/group is 100% free?
Absolutely, you can leave our site at any time and our service are 100% free. Our group is dedicated to help.
Artist still have artworks copyrights?
We do not claim ownership rights in your works or other materials posted by you.
Members who have posted works to the group are either the copyright owners of the component parts of that work or are posting the work under license from a copyright owner or his or her agent or otherwise as permitted by law. You may not reproduce, distribute, publicly display or perform, or prepare derivative works based on any works without the express, written consent of the appropriate owner of copyright.
How to remove my GetWatchers account? Contact us and we will remove your account for you. Iif you don't use the site on a regular basis, it's not necessary to remove your account. You account will sleep until next database update.
